Design to make wealth and personal finance advice accessible the Muslim community
Overview
Islamic Finance Guru (IFG) is a hub that helps Muslims with their investment, personal finance, and entrepreneurial journeys. Their mission aims to give the Muslim community more tools to become financially stable. They say, "We want to take Muslims from among the poorest in society to the richest." Their digital product aims to effectively deal with problems like discrimination, underrepresentation, and poverty for Muslims trying to access the financial sector. IFG contacted Shoreditch Design in their early days as a start-up. We used our design expertise to help their product improve, and the company receive essential funding.
Our design thinking
From our initial brief of a pitch deck for potential investors, we expanded our work for them to an MVP, or a barebones version of their product, for their investment app and for their Wills app.The client was after a very clean, simple MVP. For the investment app, we developed two detailed UX flows for their initial app, one for beginners and one for experts. The goal with the beginner version was that a user without much financial experience could navigate and learn more without becoming overwhelmed. Wills app contained many more screens, so we got to work to transform a complex UX flow. We worked within the parameters of their current brand colours and kept the design very neat and minimal. We utilised icons to work within the sphere of the IFG world. In the final round of our work with IFG, we generated a design system with their established brand identity for future use and their developers as they built the app.
Finished product
It's always a rewarding journey to watch a company go from a small start-up to see them launching its product and continue to grow in capital.According to Linkedin, they have raised US$ 4.1M (series unknown) on Crunchbase using the pitch deck material we made. We also watched as they launched their Investing app and Wills app, and can't wait to see how their digital product helps empower the Muslim community.
